![]() On the one hand its really great that music has been a lifetime hobby for both of us. Bert still plays and I've been in bands throughout my life. One the other hand, we're not exactly rock stars anymore. Now I play in a church band. We have no roadies, no groupies, no girls buying us drinks between sets. Now it is possible that my memories of our musical fame have become exaggerated over the years. In reality our roadies were semi-crazed jocks, our version of groupies were downright scary (one involved us in a car chase where Bert and I both feared for our lives), and the girl that bought me drinks between sets ended up marrying me. After some thought I know how I feel. Music has been a great part of my life. It's given me my best friends, my spouse, and a lifelong creative outlet. The pic is terrific. October 9, 2006
The Porsche Panamera The Panamera is the first Porsche sedan. It will be available as either a two door or four door. I think Porsche should have done this sooner instead of wasting their design cycles shoehorning the Cayman into the narrow gap between the Boxster 'S' and the Carerra. It's supposed to be out in 2009 which is right around when I will have 50K-mi. on my Carerra. Plus I'm getting old so I need to think about settling down and driving something more sensible. (by Andy Budd; Simon Collison; Cameron Moll)I have read a number of books on CSS and this is the best of the lot. This isn't a reference manual, for that you should get ORielly's Definitive Guide. It goes through the common tasks you find yourself doing with CSS and shows you the popular methods of doing it. Using lists for menus and nav-bars, styling images, drop shadows, rounded corners, table-less layout, styled forms, and hacks and filters. This is a great task oriented book with thoughtful explanations of what's going on. It ends with two real world case studies that put together complete websites using CSS. You should download the patches because there are errors especially in the liquid layouts in the printed version of the book. If you're past the primer stage and want to really see what you can do with CSS then this is a great book for you.
