The Commitments is about a fast talking promoter that assembles and packages an Irish R&B band. The characters are engaging, the Dublin club scene adds a deep texture, and the terrific soundtrack will stay with you long after you see the movie. It made the British Film Institute's list of the best 100 films made in Ireland or the British Isles during the last century.
